These Terms are an agreement between you and Kat Janowicz about your use of katjanowicz.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

What the Site is

The Site is an informational website about my books, my writing, my speaking, and related projects. It is offered for general information. It is not professional, legal, engineering, financial, or investment advice, and nothing on it creates a professional relationship between us.

Content and permitted use

The text, photographs, graphics, and design of the Site are mine or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read, share links to, and quote short passages with attribution. Please don’t republish substantial portions, or use the material commercially, without asking first — just get in touch.

Photographs on the Site are either Kat’s own, used with the subject’s permission, or licensed stock images from services such as Unsplash. For stock images the license permits the use, but I cannot personally vouch for any arrangement between the photographer and the people pictured. If you appear in an image here and would like it taken down, get in touch and I will remove it. Please don’t copy or reuse the photographs.

Anything you send me

If you send a photo, a comment about the book, or a message, you confirm that it is yours to send and that you are happy for me to read it. By sending a photo and a line for the readers’ page you give me permission to show them on the Site — and you can withdraw that permission at any time by asking. You keep ownership of whatever you send.

Links to other sites

The Site links to booksellers and to other organizations and projects. Those sites aren’t under my control, and linking to them isn’t an endorsement of everything they publish. Buying a book from a retailer is a transaction between you and that retailer, under their terms.

Availability and accuracy

I try to keep the Site accurate and available, but I can’t promise it will always be either. Content may change or be removed without notice.

Liability

The Site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Site or from anything you rely on here.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
